Annual dance showcase SPA-Fest is set to reach a thrilloing climax on the 18th of June at Karen's Nairobi Pentecostal Church. Competition is set to be even tighter after a total prize kitty of KSH. 420,000 was introduced, with the overall winners bagging 200,000/=. Details in the Events Diary.

DJ Sparrxx, creator of the F5 event, joins an ever expanding list of local Gospel DJs making their way onto secular radio. The DJ will now be playing each Sunday morning on one of the nation's most popular radio stations, Citizen Radio, between 6 and 6:30 am, and later between 9 and 10am.

Many of Gospel's marquee artists will pull together to assist with the charity concert for Minister Peter Mulei's kidney transplant. In an effort to raise over half a million Kenya Shillings, the artists are getting together for a huge concert. Multiple Groove winner Daddy Owen is amongst the drawcards at the upcoming Sawa Sawa Festival 2010 slated for the 29th and 30th May. Other artists taking part involve Prezzo, DJ Adrian, Ukoo Fulani, MOB DJs, Chizi, Cannibal and a raft of others. The Festival runs at the Sarakasi Dome and the Sawasawa Bar and Restaurant on the 29th and Kasarani Stadium on the 30th.

One time Gospel radio queen Tina Nzuki returns to the station where she cut her teeth. Formerly called Family FM, now Radio 316 is once more set to benefit from the humor, energy and quick wit of this talented presenter. Tina will be remembered for her time with Family FM, but it is on Hope FM's breakfast show, Activate, that she really made a name for herself. The past few years have seen her on Royal Media's urban station, Hot 96, where she's served as a breakfaat and later drive time presenter.

Jimmie Gait was recently nominated for a songwriter award at the 5th Annual Groove Awards, and if he's current single is anything to go by, he doesn't seem to be slowing down. Yellow Pawpaw is his cleverly written Kenya-meets-Nigeria tune, and is along the lines of his earlier Muhadhara single. With cleverly written and amusing lyrics, the single was produced by certified hitmaker R-Kay and is now available for purchase HERE.

KORA nominee and Kisima winner Astar is hard at work trying to complete his second album. Currently titled "Letting It Go", this hard-wroking says even though they will be done with recording fairly soon, he is looking at releasing it in the last quarter of the year in order to do a sustained marketing push. He's in studio hit-maker producer Gittxx, and is looking to collaborate with artists such as Allan Aaron and Kanjii, with a special reunion collabo for Zaidi Ya Mziki also on the cards.

Kijiji frontman Kanjii recently connected with Zimbabwe's Tapiwa Mugadza, runners up in the Zimbabwe Idols reality show to record Push On, a single the record label suggests could be Kanjii's biggest to date. Tapiwa will be jetting back soon to shoot the video, right before he heads out for South Africa to perform at the World Cup. Recorded by Gideon Kimanzi, the single should be out later in June.
