DJ Fresh has been nominated for 2 Urban Gospel Industry (UGI) Awards. These include Radio Personality/Program of the Year for the DJ Fresh Mixshow alongside Tony Smith - WFDU -New Jersey NJ, Bobby Parker WAUG - Raleigh NC, Floyd Cray - WFDU -New Jersey NJ, Denise Hill Sunday Morning Worship and Praise Edward Young Dirty Long - The Good Life Radio Show. He's also up for Mobile DJ of the Year alongside DJ Will, DJ Flame & Revel8tion, DJ Device and DJ Official. Other artists nominated include Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, T Bone, Canton Jones, Da TRUTH, Tye Tribbett, 4th Avenue Jones, Shei Atkins, Sherwin Gardner and Platinum Souls among others. DJ riQ Sets Up Phat Traxx |

Available in Southlands Estate, riQ has set up a new Studio known as Phat Traxx. Set up predominantly as a DJ Studio, it also has the capability to handle audio recordings. Available for audio rehearsals and DJ practise sessions, the studio that was set up in April 2006 is complete with a DJ console and studio console. More equipment is on the way.

For those who know him, you know this album is well overdue. Chris is now putting the final touches to his 10-12 track album titled "(Hivi Ndivyo) MAMBO YALIVYO". Produced predominantly by himself and Gideon Kimanzi, the album is a smogasbord of styles. From Afro-pop and ragga, to world music and rock, there's something in it for everyone. Look out for its release in the next coupla weeks.

The ministry of Gender, sports, culture and social services offers an application form for registration and recognition of cultural groups and artists. At only 520 kenya shillings this form can be obtained at the ministry’s offices at NSSF building off Valley road on the third floor. The form caters for both Kenyan and Non-Kenyan applicants. This will give gospel musicians official recognition from the Kenyan government and as a result one can obtain recommendation letters form the culture ministry to travel overseas for shows.The form has an annual renewal fee at only 200 shillings and entitles the applicant or group an arbitrator from the department where conflict occurs within a group.
