It seems that everything in our beloved country is shifting to a “grand something”. If it’s not a grand coalition, its grand corruption, or grand opposition and now the infamous grand regency. I am sure the linguists or philologists who coined the word ‘grand’ wherever they be, whether in this life or the other, are a happy and fulfilled people.
The word grand brings a couple of images and pictures to mind. Big, impressive, majestic, glorious, imposing, magnificent and many others are among the few I can mention. In the last few days I have been struck by another kind of grand and probably the only one that should strike us as a Kenyan people. That is the Grandness of God. Think with me; Kenya has been through hell and high water in the last three to six months. In response to some of the challenges and issues we have had to face, we have formed both internal and external systems that are supposed to deliver us from the madness and safely navigate us to the future. These ‘grand’ socio-economic structures, as well as socio-political systems have merged into grander outfits that seem to promise ‘heaven’, if you know what I mean. I have no problem with these grand outfits we’ve developed, except in that they seem to have given birth to some rather grand problems. That aside, fellow brothers and sisters, are we in our seeking of things grand forgotten the only Grand that we ought to seek? Have we forgotten about the only Grand God? Where do we place His might and magnificence? Truth is, there is only one Grand coalition that is able to help us from our social, economic and political quagmires. And that Grand coalition is the ‘Trinity coalition’. The Grandness of our God is the only sure and primary way of leading us to the much anticipated ‘promised land’. He alone has the blueprint to a prosperous and well laid 2030 plan. A society that does not integrate His Grand design together with its 2030 visions, social, economic or political proficiency, is bound to end in destruction (and note my friends. Destruction is not necessarily the apocalyptic doom and gloom we have in our minds. On the contrary destruction has so many faces and images. One of them includes a depraved, hollow, ever wanting culture marred by a people and society that is ever engulfed by injustice, corruption, violence and inequalities at all levels). In the scriptures, this is vividly spoken in the words “unless the Lord builds a house, the laborers labor in vain”. In our dealing with grand corruption, grand oppositions, grand regency and grand coalitions squabble, only our Grand God is necessary. The majesty of our God is what is to be welcomed into the fabric of our nation and its people. As Kenyans, Christ’s disciples and lovers of this nation, we should raise our voices and call on his Grandness to intervene with His mighty saving grace. Let us call on Him to destroy every enemy and establish His rule of justice, peace and right actions towards all Kenyans. The church of Jesus Christ stands at a focal point in the history of this country - God is calling us to raise our prophetic voice and decree into this nation the plans and purposes of God and His Kingdom and displace the very evident plans of the enemy. Right now. Decree his purpose. Yes, right now. Just pause reading this article and declare the will of Heaven shall be the will of Kenya…………..Amen. As the financial year closes, join me in decreeing and prophesying a new nation is rising, a new people are emerging, a new glory is rising among us. And a great and Grand God is being enthroned in our midst. About The Author: Sam Kithika is a gifted writer currently working in the banking industry.
