Image “Rain drops on roses and blue satin satches…” Yes, those are the words from Maria in the movie Sound of Music (I wish I could sing it through my written words).  Personally I think those words define pure bliss. Pure bliss crowned in all its simplicity.

So when did things become so complicated?

Call me old fashioned but I truly cherish simple moments.  Climbing trees just so you could fill yourself up with fruit as you giggle away with your loved ones; going on picnics; or even better, mountain climbing, just to sweat it out and eventually collapse in fits of laughter; all these in search of adventure and excitement.

These days, getting stressed over a spoilt/stolen phone is what seems to be eating away at most people. All hell will break loose to ensure that a replacement is gotten; and not just any phone - it has to be a fancy looking one with as many features as a phone can hold (never mind that you will not use them all!).

Why do we make life so complicated? I like the words of the psalmist, when he says (In chapter 33)

“…No king is saved by the size of his army; No warrior escapes by his great strength,
A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save
But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine
We wait in hope for the Lord He is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice,
For we trust in His Holy name May your unfailing love rest upon us O Lord, even as we put our hope in you.”

Does it get any easier than that?

It’s as simple as surrender. The battle is there and we are aware of it, but it is not for us to fight.  Take it as the perfect opportunity (note: not the only opportunity) to run to your father in heaven so that He may be glorified.  That’s all He wants from us, to have us look up to Him with adoration, worship, expectation, love, and need so that He can gallantly sweep in and sweep us off our feet.

Hey but it does not end there, No! No! There is one more thing that completes this perfect scenario: Going back to Him and glorifying Him through that situation or provisioned need and showering Him with praise from our Alabaster box of life.

Simple.
