December 6, Nyayo Stadium - If a nation can indeed be changed by a single day of fervent prayer, then Kenya has been. Over two thousand turned up at the Nyayo Stadium to do just that – lift hands in prayer and worship on behalf of the nation.

“Today is not about praying just another prayer!” declared organizer Daniel Hoogteyling in introduction. “This day is about seeking God for our nation, getting real with God…”

The same message was echoed by visiting Ugandan pastor John Mulinde, whose testimony was of how prayer has consistently turned the tide in the affairs of Uganda – from AIDS prevalence rates to economic conditions. It was with such motivation that young and old alike lifted up their voices in repenting and praying for the nation, for its fathers, its leaders, its pastors and its people.

Several worship leaders, youth leaders and pastors led the proceedings. Eunice Njeri led worship for most of the day, backed by the Chris Adwar-led Villagers Band. Nico and the Mavuno Worship Project also joined in. Bishop Mark Kariuki, NPC South’s Pastor Wesley, ICC’s Tony Kiama and Philip Kitoto were some of the spiritual leaders who led prayers. Vice president Kalonzo Musyoka also made a much appreciated appearance, declaring that “The name of Jesus Christ shall be lifted over our nation…”.

As Kenya prayed, so did Africa and quite a bit of the world: several nations on the continent had teams pledged to prayer the whole day in solidarity; the show was broadcast live to millions all over the world on GOD TV; locally, Family TV showed the proceedings live all day, giving many an opportunity to join via television.

Even with just a fraction of the masses expected showing up, the whole day went by without a single glitch, the organization and set-up deserving kudos. It was certainly a day of worthy investment in the future of this nation, since as Bishop Kariuki pointed out, everything that takes place in the natural has already taken place in the spiritual! For lack of a better way to explain it, check out some pics from the event.

The call was such an intimate experience moment with God.The atmosphere was divine:so holy, pure and an awesome presence of God\\\'s Love .I believe that the 6th of December will go a long way into determining the course of our Country,Kenya. And also the growth of Radical Christianity.I believe we did such a beautiful thing that God wil always remember,,Similar to the Woman who broke the alabaster box and poured very precious and expensive oil onto the head of Jesus.. this is pure LOVING on Jesus with totality, without withholding anything.May God use us as the light and salt of our Genera
