Multi-platinum Grammy award-winning and high profile super-group Jars of Clay are all set for their upcoming Kenya Tour. The stop will include two concerts at the Mavuno Dome and the KICC on the 20th and 22nd of February respectively. Set to join them on stage are the likes of Juliani, MOG, Kanjii, and Eric Wainaina, as well as Astar, Pete Odera, and DJ Moz, amongst others.
An eclectic band performing in acoustic, rock and R&B styles, Jars of Clay are one of the most consistent Christian bands to date. In the 14 years they’ve been together, they’ve released an amazing nine full-length studio albums, as well as a live and a number of compilation albums. They have picked up a host of awards, including three very prestigious Grammy Awards, as well as a number of Dove and BMI Awards, and have toured with the likes of Rock Superstars Matchbox Twenty and Sting. Their music has featured on movies and documentaries including Drive Me Crazy and God or the Girl, amongst others. The group, whose name is derived from 2 Corinthians 4:7 ("But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us") are also the founders of the Blood Water Mission , a non-profit organization that actively promotes clean blood and clean water efforts in Africa.
The tour is brought to you local HIV/AIDS awareness organization I Choose Life, as part of the Jijue One Million Campaign , a nationwide drive towards HIV status awareness. All proceeds from the shows will go towards fighting of HIV/AIDs in Kenya.
