Gideon is undoubtedly one the most talented next generation gospel producers Kenya has to offer.

He has worked with a wide variety of musicians with the likes of the 2005 KORA award winners' maximum melodies (best spiritual group-Africa), the multi talented Chris Adwar, Kanjii of Milele, and a large number of upcountry choirs, of which he says they are innumerable. There is no doubt that the 5 years Gidi has been a producer he has made his mark on the Kenyan gospel music industry.

Gideon comes from a family of five siblings; 4 brothers and 1 sister. Being a lastborn he
recalls his older sister carrying him along to concerts at Nairobi Baptist church and Nairobi Pentecostal church - Valley Road and pin points this as the beginning of his relationship with music.

He started playing the bass guitar at 12 and by the 15 he was playing the keyboard. He recived his formative education at Nairobi South primary school and then joined the Saint Mary's school Nairobi which he credits for his growth in music. He played in his first band-Jazz it All while at Saint Mary's with Allan Kung'u, Aaron Rimbui, J.J Ojiambo.

Gideon had his life changing experience at a house fellowship in 1989 but did not really take his Christian walk seriously until he joined Fly-M, an evangelic outreach ministry that held challenge weekends and preached in schools. He developed musically under the tutelage of this ministry, after which he joined Glory Tabernacle in 1996.

His entrance into production was a gradual one beginning as a sequencer and proceeding to vocals mixing and eventually producing whole songs. He got his big break when he obtained attachment at Next Level Studio, where he recalls meeting producers Chris Adwar, Pete Odera and Julian Macharia. He then worked under Chris Adwar and after a short while was running Next Level. September 2002 saw him leave Next Level to run Hit Score Studios.

Gideon brings a different taste to the gospel industry in Kenya with a rich fusion of African jazz, pronounced keyboards. Producing a new fresh and funky beat; he has worked with Sifu, Holy Battalion, Davie, Linda Orocha, Tony Ndonyo, the late Poxi Presha and Majimaji. He wholly produced the soundtrack of the highly successful daystar musical “Nehela” in 2003 and produced a compilation album dubbed the Same Reason Projecct in 2005.

As a producer Gideon has seen his work receive many accolades. Catherine Mueni won a 2004 Kisima Award as the Most Promising Artist, while Maximum Melodies scooped the 2005 KORA for Best Spiritual Group.

In addition, Wangeci Mbogo got a nod in the American Gospel Music Awards, Davie picked up Song of the year honours at the 2004 Groove Awards and Zipporah Muoso got a 2004 Kisima award. At this rate, it is unlikely to be long before he starts picking up his own awards as a producer. Still he says he seems to speak a different musicl language from many of the industry's producers.

He singles out Chris Adwar and Kanjii as having a big influence in as far as shaping him musically. He dreams of the day he gets the opportunity to work with African music icons the likes of Yousso N'dour, or great talents such as Lauryn Hill or R&B genius R Kelly.

While not working at Hit Score Studio Gideon helps the sound team at his home church of Eagles Nest. His ambition is to help budding musicians to reflect the Lord in their lives and music, and to reconcile the music industry to God, who is the origin of all music.
