If the Groove Awards 2010 launch was anything to go by, this year’s awards ceremony is likely to be the biggest yet. Over 200 people crammed into one of the halls at the New Stanley Hotel in the heart of town to witness the media launch.

It was a glitzy and glamorous event attended by the media, local Gospel artists and industry stakeholders, and served to introduce the 2010 awards to the public. During the evening, guests were re-introduced to the vision of the awards, witnessed the unveiling of a swanky new website, and got to meet the 2010 panel of judges. Guests were also made privy to the awards schedule for the year, and introduced to brand new regional categories that serve as an expansion of the awards.

In what proved to be a short and sweet ceremony, Amani Maranga proved a phenomenal master of ceremony, with remarks made by Nancy Kihenia (Mo Sound Entertainment), David Kuria (Chairman, panel of judges), and Peter Enzeye (MCSK), as well Kevin Mulei (event brainchild) and representatives from the various sponsors. Ugandan jazz maestro Isaiah Katumwa was on hand for a very special performance.

The awards ceremony happens on the 1st of May 2010 at the Kenyatta International Conference Center.
