Nairobi Lighthouse Church has a long history in this city for powerful and life-changing praise and worship. NLC’s first praise and worship album, Prepare the Way was released in late 2009, followed by the single Extraordinary God in January 2010. (You can get both on our sister site, www.pewahewa.com).

And now, KidzHouse, the children’s church at NLC, is getting ready to present what they’re calling a new sound in Africa - the sound of the next generation of worshippers.

On the 4th of July 2010, NLC presents the first praise and worship album of its kind in this region, I Can Change My World. The 12-track anthology features the voices of children unreservedly offering praise and worship, making a declaration of a different tomorrow, and calling their fellow children to a life of worship from a tender age.

The lyrics to the title track on the album summarize what the message of the project is, as the kids boldly sing:

Somebody's waiting for me/It's my responsibility/Jesus paid the price/I'm not ashamed, I'll give my life
I've heard the cry of the nations/I'll stand for my generation/We can change the world/
I can change my world

Says the children’s pastor, Makena Mwithia:

"This is the sound of a generation that believes they can change the world, no matter how old they are. We want every child everywhere to experience and be transformed by that message..."
