Few gospel artists can boast of a sensationally successful entry into the entertainment scene. Micah Stampley can. Not only did his first album receive significant airplay, it also entered the Billboard charts as the second highest charting gospel artist of all time. And all this for a debuting artist!
Now Gospel’s breakout artist of 2005 is back, and is set to set to release his sophomore album in October 2006. Titled “A Fresh Wind”, it will be a follow up to his critically acclaimed, highly successful album “The Song Book of Micah”. The new album is an eclectic mix of exuberant praise and worship as well as mellow gospel, all punctuated with powerful messages. It is the culmination of his years as a Praise and Worship leader, as well as lessons he has learned going through life’s seasons. The album’s lead single, “Never Let You Go,” expresses the emptiness of life without Christ, and the hope that is found in trusting him. “A Fresh Wind” will be released via Levitical Records LLC, a company formed by Micah and his wife and songwriting partner Heidi. It will be distributed by Central South Distribution, Inc. As an artist, Micah Stampley has achieved a lot in a short span of time. A gifted psalmist, he won the inaugural Stellar Gospel Music Awards Talent Search, and has often received comparisons to Donnie McClurkin as a result of his voice and ministry. He even recently received a personal invitation to perform at “An Evening of Stars”, a benefit event in honor of “the Queen of Soul” Aretha Franklin. He has also studied and served under some incredible men of God, including Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr., Bishop Gene Moore and most recently Bishop T.D. Jakes. The first thing he wants people to feel when they listen to his new record “A Fresh Wind” is the Love of God. Micah felt he was lifted to a new dimension when recording this album, and like himself, wants listeners to be drawn to a new place and enjoy God just as much he does.
