Chris was born in Kisumu city but grew up in Nairobi. He spent his formative years in Karen C Primary, Hill school Eldoret before joining Nairobi school for his secondary education. He is the 5 th born from a family of 7 siblings. Chris is arguably one the best producers in the country, a band artist, choir director and a singer.
He seriously got involved in music while in high school and soon after joined the school band. His days at Nairobi school were nostalgic at his sheer drive to play the piano at any cost and would sneak into the music room and chapel. Chris attended a challenge weekend in 1993 while in high school and after intimate preaching by the visiting Fly M he got saved on feb 14 th 1993. Draws satisfaction in being a gospel musician as it provides him a stage to share the gospel through music and lead people to the presence of the almighty God which he believes is the highest level any musician should aspire to achieve. He draws inspiration from God's word and lifes experiences and endeavours to understand the bible the way great men have done and achieve higher levels of influence. On completing high school he joined a choir in 1997 and in 1998 co-founded Voices United Choir with Mike nyaoke in 1998. He got into production in 1998 through Balozi Africa, where Alfred Minjiri requested him to help them out. His first day in the next level studio he met veteran producers pete odera and Maurice oyando and immediately started his internship which lasted 2 weeks and within a few months had a Brick-house studio a new studio to run. He likens the experinece to deep end for a learning swimmer and he had to learn quick and operate the studio. In his 7 years industry, Chris has had 3 stints at Next Level studio, Brick-House, Digitrack and then set up Tuff Audio with partners in 2004. Produced his first song with Maurice Oyando titled “kula kidogo” which was a hit with the local radio stations especially metro fm. Chris also made advertisement jingles and programme theme songs such as rock down country and instrumentals for sundowner. Multi talented Chris is a band artist, choir director, worship leader has worked with the whos-who in the Kenyan music industry such as Mercy Myra, Kleptomaniacs, Nameless, Eric Wainaina. He has also had the opportunity to record Harry Kimani, Emmanuel Jal the AGA 2005 winner, Groove Awards and Kora nominee 2005, Wangeci Mbogo AGA nominee 2005, Eric wainaina and Achieng' Abura who have both won kisima and kora awards, and “say yes to children” which won an Emmy award with Talia Oyando, Coca cola pop stars group, Sema. He advices aspiring artists to develop stage presence and ability to pull crowds. He has produced both VUC albums “it has come to pass” and “lamo” of which he is the choir director and is working towards winning a grammy one day. Musically he looks up to bono for his ability to supercede his sphere of influence to the point of getting presidents such as george w.bush to give him an ear, sting for his brilliance in song writting and T.D Jakes for the respect that he commands from the Christiandom and beyond.
